A piece of my life - living it up

Recently i've been getting in basketball quite a bit lately.
Actually starting a team in competition at auburn quite soon, so looking forward to that.
So I'd just like to share a piece of my life with you guys.

Go here probably 4-5 times a week in the arvo. A basketball court right next to this park which is behind burwood girls.
Tonnes of people come in the arvo to play and we'd play for hours on end. Like I said in my med interview, i love it how sport brings people together. i've gotten to know so many of the people there, and we've become good friends. Feels pretty cool to be homies with maori guys as well, so that's an added bonus.
Most of the people who go there are chinese guys who've migrated from china in the past 5 years. since Ashfield i predominantly asian.
To them i'm like a white kid who is chinese. cause they always speak in fobby english to me, when i can perfectly understand and speak mandarin.

Anyways, the other night my family went out to beverly hills to eat at seafood restaurant again. On the way home, my dad insisted dropping by stanmore to look at the houses decked with christmas lights. Which were pretty impressive, but not as good as my dad hyped it up to be.

I reckon it'd be pretty cool if i could fully decorate my place with christmas decorations. A few years ago, our neighbour did that and also had the jingle bells music playing over and over again on one of their toys. got kind of annoying, especially when we had to sleep.

can't believe christmas is coming so soon. where did this whole year go.

went laser tagging today with some of the guys.

thursday $8 games for whoever is interested laters. and we can do it in suits this time. that's one thing checked off my things to do before i die list.

this post has been really disjointed. but just wanted to post this stuff up so i won't forget them in years to come. this blog is sort of my little time capsule to come back on and remember what i did and felt and stuff like that

hoping to see many of you soon at ATAR bbq. until next time
take care

In a nutshell - my adventures

Can you believe it. It's only been a month since we all finished our exams. That's crazy.
Also been nearly a month since i last blogged. so
1- i've pretty much forgotten how to type and recount properly
2- a lot of stuff has happened

To avoid a TL;DR i'll just quickly summarise some of the things that have happened since i last blogged.

UNSW interviews followed by aryan's place.

interviews went pretty well. i felt really comfortable talking in there and the time just passed by so quickly. it was so damn hot that day too. so afterwards i drove me and sy up to aryan's place on full blast air con to join some others in some fun n games.

Epping BBQ

I always love barbeques. Especially when it's with a big bunch of friends.
Nothing better than having a sausage sizzle with some few cold drinks on a summer's day. It's so calm and relaxing.
Bought a big bunch of sausages and drinks . and it was really good. played some basketball and around the play equipment afterwards. cheap thing to do too. 5 bucks a head with drinks food and ice blocks . Definitely will do again

Matt's place

Afterwards caught the bus to matt's place to stayover at his place for the night.
Went out to a bistro nearby to eat. I love going to bistro's cause their steaks aren't bad and they're really cheap too. Food tastes good when it's good and it's cheap.

Dropped over the red rooster to claim some cheeseburger kris had on his entertainment book voucher thingo. and headed back and just wii'd and snooker'd and pool'd all night. The time passed so quickly. It was already 5am when I thought it was 1. Pulled my second all-nighter after formal. Felt so bad afterwards xD
Got to parra maccas and just ate a whole load of hot cakes and headed home. Had a shower and crashed my bed for 8 hours. Sleep deprivation makes you feel so bad afterwards.

SCHOOLIES TRIP
I gotta say. perhaps one of my best weeks of my life. actually definitely.
Such a fun new experience. Loved it so much. Miss the place so much. Already looking forward to doing it again some time.

So much stuff went on and they were all so fun. Highlights for me would be the late night beach sparkle bomb sessions. the day at erina fair. the music stereo playing when we were preparing food and the late night dnm session.

Had a hot streak at erina fair where we decided to buy heaps of scratchies from the newsagent and ended up walking away from it 5 dollars richer. which was awesome. then we spent some money on those chocolate grabbing machines in the shopping centre and walked away from it with a load of candy.
had dinner at spur steak ranch which was really cheap since it was 2 for 1 night for the burgers.

Me and swami also came up with an idea of making a new blog dedicated to recounts of our burger eats and our ratings of the burgers we will try all around sydney. Kind of like a grab your fork. only its just burgers. We still need a name for it.

after dinner. hit up intencity and i hit the jackpot on the monopoly machine. so we were able to all get BEST FRIENDS bands (also thanks to sweet talking the intencity lady ;) into allowing us to have 240 tickets instead of the 232 we had) which was awesome. I flashed them in my UWS interview.
Shopping centres close really early over there. So by the time we left. we were the only ones there. Made an awesome sparkler bomb and attempted to make a bonfire at the beach that night.

Day after, me swami and bryan went out to erina fair again to get matching manbags which were on sale like crazy. reduced to 14 bucks from 60 bucks. and the bags look awesome.

had to include this in. alison found a kid's girl bike in some thrown away trash. and tried to ride it.

Just felt so good that we could live together well as a family for 7 days. That we all cared for each other and looked after each other. Also got to know some people so much more better after this experience. Cause you don't really know how people are at home and stuff really until you spend a lot of time 24/7 to them. They all became my family and i just felt much more open to them afterwards.
We had this late night dnm session until 5am which really made me think about some stuff. But it was just so awesome that we were all open to each other and didn't hold back.
Games of mafia were awesome too. Had a bunch of pretty funny people. and we went on a laughing high for about 2 hours late at night.

UWS interviews followed by HOUSE PARTY
UWS interviews were screwed up. Didn't like it much. Role play sucked. I wouldn't go there anyway after having to travel for ages to get there for interview
Although i did look pretty fly in my business clothes and my manbag. Bryan decided to turn up with his old adidas manbag. which was a dissapointment

Drove up to house party the next morning. Picked up carol from chatswood station. She got me some korean ice block thing which kinda melted by the time we got there since i couldnt eat along the way.

Felt so good to see people from school again. Not just our grade. But all the rest of the peeps. And that we were all there for the same cause. Had lots of fun. Especially picking up basketball again after a week, getting into some deep discussion and the night concert that vijay put on with his band 'road to canaan'. They are a pretty good band. Check them out. Everyone was up and jumping up and down to them. Geoff went kinda crazy haha.

Was helping vijay carry some stuff from his car beforehand and met his band people. Realised one of them 'joel' used to be in my class back in year 3 when we had composite class. So it was pretty awesome to see him again. Back in those days, he was like my big brother. Went digging in my photo archives for photos, and i found him.

He's the one on the left. Guess who the one on the right is.
Left around 9-30 with carol. Dropped her off at chatswood again, and went driving back home. Kinda got lost along the way and i found myself driving past ryde aquatic centre. So i pulled over and checked the map. Went to get maccas for a bit. and drove the long way home. But it was so carefree just driving back at night with my coldplay cd on and just my car on the road . Felt so independent.

So that's about my adventures for now. I can definitely say that my past month has definitely lived up to the hype that i was expecting beforehand. Especially schoolies. Can't believe theres still so much time until we start uni, and that ATAR results are coming out soon. But i don't really care about those things right now.
Enjoy yourselves everybody. Do what you've always wanted to do. Don't hold back
Take care

THE WAGYU BURGER

I'm so damn excited for formal. i actually don't know what goes on during the 5 hours but pretty excited at finally being free and not being restricted by study or parents. my parents have been especially nice after HSC :P

If i haven't excitingly already told you, i passed my P's on thursday
oh joy :D i was so happy
the day when i was actually supposed to do my driving test, this asian driving test guy told me my central brake light was not working, so I had to go get it fixed and do the driving test the next day.
I had a lady instructor on the thursday and i wasnt really nervous actually since i'd already been to the rta the day before and went through the motions. The test passed by really quickly and i was really really careful making my head movements really obvious xD must've looked like an ostrich
waited at this T-junction for around 6 minutes just waiting for the road to be clear, so that ate up some time thankfully :P

Straight afterwards i drove to school by myself for the first time :P It felt pretty good. I dunno why, but i must say i feel more of a man now i can go places without being restricted by transport xD

What happened today:
went grocery shopping for some food and drinks for formal after-party, it feels good to be of some help :P
got about 5L of juice, 3L of ice tea, 4 cans of red bull and getting the rest of the stuff on monday. afterwards went biking and went to play some basketball down at the local courts. it's full of chinese fob uni students and maori people
was just chatting to swami online, and he was asking for a lift to formal and this is what came across:

rohan says:
fair enough
hey can you give me a lfit to formal?

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
yeah?
umm hey what about this
im going into the city beforehand
to unload the drinks into the apartment
the girls are gonna be there too
can you catch a train to strathfield and i'll pick you up there?

rohan says:
yeah thats fine
are we still going drinks shopping on monday?

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
yep yep
umm do you mind going into the city with me?
and we can chill for a bit while the girls get ready
then head off
saves me making a return trip

rohan says:
awesome
itd be good to chill in the arvo
what time is all this?

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
umm
can you get to strathfield at around 4-30?
so we'll get to city by 5

rohan says:
DUDE

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
and then chill until 6

rohan says:
BURGER!?

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
OH MAN

rohan says:
WE'D BE IN SUITS TOO

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
YES WE WOULD
I NEEDA CHECK WHERE THIS PLAN B place is

rohan says:
oh my god oh my god oh my god this is so perfect

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
i reckon eh
ok the place closes at 4pm
so get to strathfield by 3
i need to part into the car space at meriton
*park
and we'll walk over to get a burger

rohan says:
freaking. awesome.

[ruse09] .Mkl Ľīů says:
man i cant wait

Finally, getting to taste that plan B wagyu burger in the city AND in suits. for himym non-fanatics or people who are not regular readers of my blog, seems like we're making a fuss over nothing.

But i'm so excited to try this burger. a nice filler before the formal
finally everything is coming into place and life is becoming more and more enjoyable.

That's it for now. I must include a picture before i leave so here it is:

kris at his sweatiest and best after an intense squash session. man that sport is heaps of fun. really really tiring too. i recommend giving it a try, no wonder drew is so fit. sadly my phone can't capture the strongly defined sweat patch on his shirt which extends all the way down the shirt. yum

play safe, can't wait to see you all at formal. lets have some fun

The start of a new life

It's been a while since i last posted.

What's happened since the last post:
- HSC. exams are not worth mentioning as post-HSC is hardly a time to be thinking of how we did in exams. during that period went on an obsessive search for fellow 3u math competitors. felt like i did ok overall, so we shall see how the results come out.

- Got an MSI netbook :D thanks to joseph's sweet hookups from his dad.

MSI Wind U100 plus for only 400 bucks !! pretty awesome deal. and thanks to the government, we get half of that back :P so really i'm just paying 200 bucks for this netbook. Currently typing on it, and its great. Bluetooth all my phone pictures over to here for my blog :P and just enabled my wireless internet again, so i can finally type here lying on my bed.

hey i thought there'd be much more that went on during this period, but turns out it was just all study.

anyways i've been waiting for this moment for a long time and here were a couple of things i had planned out earlier:
- Get a bike and go riding along birkenhead point to rozelle track
- Go taste the wagyu burger in the city
- Go get a therapeutic massage
- Go basketball
- Go meet up with old friends
- Go gym
- Go squash
- Go enter table tennis competitions
- Go start a tutoring job
- Go get my formal stuff
- Go prepare how to cook some food just in case for schoolies
- Go get new clothes
- Go get a pair of sunglasses
- Go get my Ps
- Go crash peoples places and play
- Go sleepover

and there's more which i currently can not think of. and it'd be tl;dr
so far today, went on a drive with my dad to practise for my Ps test, so we went on a route out to five dock-rozelle-abbotsford-russell lea . most northern western people wouldn't have a clue where these places are. but its just between my place and the city with lots of water front views. doing my Ps test on the 11th, so thought it'd be good if i got used to the roads near the five dock RTA place.

on the way we passed this shop which my dad mentioned had really long queues at night. as i was driving past on the shop, it said " best fish and chips in the universe ". so we stopped by to try it out

apparently this shop has won best fish and chip shop for 17 years in a row. and the shop looked pretty good itself. on one side they sold raw seafood stuff, and on the other side was the cooked stuff

10-50 for fish and chips, a bit over price compared to the homebush 5-80 which included a drink. but it was ok cause it was supposedly the best fish and chips in the universe. started eating it, and it was ok, but nothing real special. the batter was real crispy and i'd be very happy to eat that if i had that lunch very regularly.

it was my mum's birthday today as well so we went to one of the ashfield's chinese restaurants to eat. also a very happy birthday to eddy if you happen to read this in hong kong :) ashfield restaurants make pretty nice chinese food for a really cheap price. you could get full on 10 bucks a person. and the food is quality stuff. so if you wanna give it a try i'll gladly take you :P i still havent forgotten my promise to shout you guys in the future cause we're all schoolmates.

afterwards we went to kmart to pick up a bike. got a really good helmet for 3 bucks as well xD . kmart always screws up prices on some stuff. when i scanned the helmet to check the price i couldnt believe it. and when i went to ask the checkout girl she couldnt believe it either. but i got it for 3 bucks anyway :P
went home and assembled the bike. really looking forward to riding it and getting fit.

also hooked myself onto a tutoring job for 30 bucks an hour. well the person is still considering whether or not to go to dr du or me xD i told her if she brought a friend i'd do it for 20 bucks an hour
also went to visit talent 100 to ask about tutoring there. i need to make a CV which i've never done before. i was expecting talent 100 to be intuition like, but seems like the business is totally student run. the guy there was probably 21.

got a few things coming up, really looking forward to schoolies and getting active and going places. also reading looking forward to driving by myself if i do pass my Ps. i see forums are dead
but it'd be pretty cool if the grade went and did something together. i remember the year 10/11 grade picnic kinda failed, but it was still really fun. i hope there's plenty more time to do things
dad's also been bugging me about going to do an interview training course. so i dunno if i will. i was telling kelly how i really didnt like planned responses for that kinda thing. kinda ironic cause it was the day before english.
so i guess we'll see

for now that is all
enjoy your holidays :P
let loose

Star-Struck/Serendipity

I'm so glad that i left parra library when aryan pleaded me to stay

I'm so glad that the sydney terminal was delayed by 10 minute at parra

BECAUSE.....

I BUMPED INTO NATALIE A.K.A COMMUNITYCHANNEL

and here starts the very descriptive but not obsessive recount. i'm sure many ppl have met her before, but i just felt literally weak when i met her. My knees buckled and my words were starting to slur.

so it all starts when sydney terminal is delayed at parra station. there's a loud groan among the crowd. finally the train arrives and it gets to strathfield 10 minutes later.

On the way down the ramp, to my other train i hafta change for. i was kinda in my mind thinking about what to blog about tonight. I hadn't blogged for a coupla days and just wanted to keep on motivating everyone and posting my daily routine recounts. It was about 6 so people were just finishing work and strathfield station was flooded with people. Suddenly on my way down the ramp, this girl in a grey t-shirt walks past me and we catch eyes for a moment. Suddenly it rushed my mind. oh my gosh. was that communitychannel? i quick look back and she's on the phone to someone and yep it definitely was. still i wasn't that keen to pursue her and ask for an autograph. had to catch my train on the way home. i thought oh, that'd be an interesting side story for tonight.

reach the screens at stra, and i find that next train was 13 mins. great. but then i suddenly realised. hey i got time to check out if that was really community channel. walk up the platform which i just came from, and i walk past her inconspicuously. oh my god. it was actually her. or if it wasn't. it was someone who looked exactly like her.
I'm not that big a fan myself, but i know that some people in our grade were. immediately thought to jero and belle. maybe i can get an autograph for them. but she was still on the phone calling and texting away and i was a bit submissive.

3 minutes left till her train came. i was telling myself not to be a chicken. she's just a girl on youtube. just like me. cept a hundred thousand times more people watch her videos than prefect news.
so telling myself that i'd kick myself so hard if i missed this chance. i walked to her. she originally thought i wanted a seat so she moved across

Me: Hi. Is it natalie?
Natalie: Hahah. yeah
Me: CommunityChannel right? yeah my friend really loves your videos.

In essence i was just pulling out a conversation continuer. I knew in my head that she would get that a lot.

Natalie: Oh that's nice
Me: Would it be alright if I got an autograph for them?

At that point in time there was also this other business guy sitting on the bench with a "what the hell" expression. Obviously he'd never heard of or seen her before. So she goes "yep sure thing"

2 minutes left to the train. I rummage through my bag and get out the first piece of paper i see and a pen. It's my chemistry notes. Great.

I pass her the pen and the paper. She turns the thing over to see what it is.
Natalie: Oh what is this?
Michael: Oh haha. yeah it's my chemistry notes. i've been studying for HSC
Natalie: Oh HSC, that's a sucker. Don't worry trust me. It'll be much better afterwards.
N: Oh sorry, what was your name?
M: Oh right Michael. I was really kind of star-struck and i was beginning to slur my words. and my whole body was really weak for some reason.

She begins writing away. I was really stupid and did not think to mention jero and belle's name == i really was just gleeing over the fact that I met her.

She hands the paper back over. and i go. "Mind if I get a photo too?"
She goes "yeah of course" and then i get my phone out to take the pic. all those luvos during farewells paid off. aimed perfectly.

M: Hey thanks a lot.
N: Hey no problems, you should send that photo to my email and I can post it up on my video.
For a split second i made a natural instinct to ask for her email and writing it down. but then i realised. can just get it off the net like that
M: Yeah sure. i'lll errr i'll i'll definitely do that.

i was really starting to slur my words. so i thought better get the hell out of there.

The train had arrived.
N: Well it was nice meeting you, good luck for your HSC
M: Yeah thanks

She gives me a hug and i start turning away to head to my platform with a huge grin on my face.

And so that ends my very descriptive conclusion. here's what she wrote for me.
"This is far more important that your chemistry notes" - if it's too blurry to see
Sorry jero and belle for not mentioning your name. If you want it you can have it, but after HSC of course :) i need it to study.

Edit: just remembered, she didnt write my name. cause i mentioned i was getting it for a friend. so if either of you want it. it's yours

That's it for now
Take care everyone. Make the most of your time.

study adventures

nothing better than a nerdy recount to keep you going.

following recounts include past 3 days. saturday, sunday and monday.

saturday: hit up burwood library with a friend. got there nice and early. first i really actually woke up real early to go to library when it opened.
got some hungry jacks brekkie along the way. sausage and egg mcmuffin meal with the coffee. the hungry jacks coffee was pretty good surprisingly. cause usually fast food coffee taste really really bad. especially at maccas.
get there and the entire upper floor is completely quiet. it was really quite nice to study in.

friend gave me some english notes from her school. pretty funny cause she told me that her teacher told them not to show it to anyone from any other school. crazy. they weren't that good anyway. but i took down some good hamlet notes.
we were sitting on a table of 4. and these 2 other girls come to sit down later, and one of them had really whack make-up. i'm just saying. my friend wouldn't stop going on about it how her eyes were covered with so much green make up. kinda just look like she drew an artwork on her face. i didn't really care though. was in the zone with my study.
i don't know why. but when i'm around out of school people. i feel an urge to live up to my james ruse stereotype. not the talk about maths stereotype. but the really diligent smart type. so i was being all studious is really did quite a bit of work. i was tonnes happy. 10-4 with 25 minute lunch break.

sunday: hit up state library with eddy n nathan. after the nice breakfast and coffee the day before. decided to hungry jacks again, for convenience of time too.
got lotsa good questions and material from nathan. where does that kid get all his stuff from. he could run his own tutoring centre with all the material he has. it was an okish day in terms of work done. state library was packed with other year 12s too. and people love to wear their school jerseys too. it's like a big silent corregation at the library where everyone comes and studies and reps their school.

one of my favourite things of going to state library is passing by circular quay station on the way there and on the way back. you never realise just how beautiful city of sydney is until you see that image. damn train windows are always dirty.
hyde park is very nice too. its a good city we live in. something about australia being 2nd best country to live in as well. HDI eco peoples ;) primary school friend was on the train on the way back. he goes to fort street, and he started talking to me all about scaling and subjects and stuff. was pretty degrading actually xD
friend: yeah i know cause 4u scaling is crazy, don't even try for it. i'm getting 90's in my school without trying
me: dude man, i don't talk like that == just cause i go to james ruse. i don't talk about scaling my whole life.
friend: haha yeah sure ;)
it was still nice to catch up again. end of high school kinda feels like end of primary school, except 50 times bigger. so good to see him again.

monday: i've just come back from my very productive day at parra library. picked up some earphones just for today so i could block out all the noise. pick up some hungry jacks brekkie again. but this time i try the brekkie wrap. omgsh it was soo damn good. i was asking the manager guy what was in it, and i think he might have accidentally undercharged me afterwards. cause i only paid 4-95 but on the menu it said 5-95? weird.
get to parra library 15 minutes after it opened to find jero in his spot, as he said he would be in his blog put my stuff down next to his. and sit outside to eat my breakfast. enjoying every last bite. see this baulko girl walk past who i know of, and she knows of me. give her a smile but she walks right past. meh.
head back up to start on work. and work chocablock solidly for quite a while. i see jero beside me working away on his maths

sy comes shortly afterwards. and finds a desk of her own.
jero gets to go lunch, returns. then i go to get lunch, then return. i think next time I go to parra i'll eat lunch at rishi's restaurant toscani's. it's a nice cafe/restaurant. but i feel too rude to ask for a discount.
way it works in parra library i feel. is that everyone camps on a desk. and shortly afterwards they all run out. leave all our stuff on that desk so that noone else grabs it. otherwise you'll be finding yourself vulturing around for an empty seat.
in strathfield, i see people doing laps of the library just tryna find a seat. pretty funny stuff seeing them tryna act all cool and that they know exactly what they're doing. seriously who cares. its HSC study time.
sy books a room at 3 and we go study quietly in there for 2 hours.
a really productive day. but i needa go do more now. cause a little bit more never hurt anybody. unless you're peter or ani and law of diminishing returns works on you. i'll stop with my eco terms now.

can't believe it . surreal actually. used to think before that when HSC came around, i'd be so overwhelmed cause it's the bloody-ruddy HSC . but i feel pretty good. not stressed or anything. calm and collected. that's the way to go.

oh and i think i may have stumbled across everything. i drank like 5 600ml bottles of water today while at the library. had to visit the toilet 4 times. the counter lady gave me weird looks like i was having some bladder problem. but all that water made me really focused and feel great. try that if you're having trouble concentrating. otherwise maybe placebo.

50metres to go, give that last ounce of energy. hit the books 10 hours a day like peter. might update with more study adventures later . for now that is it
take care everyone

Day in a picturayyy

my titles are getting lamer. i tried to rhyme

i'm running behind a tight study schedule but before i'm off i'd like to share my day .

headed off the state library to study. i didn't bring these books. just wanted to show off my success one stash.

detour to saint honore bread shop with eddy . which is a particular favourite of ours. detour to maccas as well where I took advantage of experience to get a 2dollar sausage and egg mcmuffin for eddy with my meal.

hoarded up state library for 6 hours. went out for a lunch break. got this. satisfying.

surrounded by business people in suits as i ate. dayum. the city business life. doesn't seem too shabby. the stuff apart from the work that is. med or commerce . either way. it's all good.

hope you are all still doing very well for yourselves and digging into that work. didn't type a long post so that'd we all benefit. i wouldn't waste as much time typing, and you wouldn't waste as much time reading, if you do read everything i type that is.

take care. study hard. seriously. study hard. less than 2 weeks to go
